Serving and giving back to the community has always run in my family.
My father, the late Rep. Ben Miranda, served our community for decades as a state legislator, school board member, attorney and activist. My mother, Lucy Lopez-Goss was raised in Los Campos in Litchfield Park to a family of field laborers and, after attaining a college degree later in life, recently retired from the Maricopa County Legal Defenders.
After working alongside my father for over 15 years, I started a small business that combines a few of my passions, boxing and youth mentorship. As a minority small business owner, I believe that small businesses are the backbone of our economy and I will work to develop a friendlier environment for small and medium-sized businesses.
As a mom, I am committed to making sure my kids grow up in a thriving, healthy and diverse community. I believe that a strong public education system is crucial to preparing all of our kids to not only contribute to, but lead a 21st century economy. I believe that access to quality, affordable healthcare is a basic human right no matter what you look like or where you live. Similarly, as a lifelong Democrat, I believe the right to vote is fundamental and needs to be protected and expanded at all costs. Lastly I believe that government, especially state government, should be transparent, accountable and most importantly accessible to the people they represent and serve.
